Live-in carer job in Malta. Provide person-centred personal care, companionship and help around the home for clients in their own homes, on a 40-hour week.
About the role
A care provider in Malta is hiring Live-in Carers. You will live in your client's home and give high-quality, person-centred care that helps them stay safe, comfortable and as independent as possible.
Each day combines personal care, practical help around the home and companionship. You always respect the client's dignity, privacy and beliefs.
Personal care
- Help with washing, bathing, shaving and oral hygiene
- Help with dressing, undressing and grooming, including fitting artificial limbs and communication aids
- Support with toileting and continence care, including commodes, bedpans, urinals and incontinence pads
- Provide catheter care and empty urine bags
- Help with mobility, including transfers, walking and moving in bed
- Assist with physiotherapy exercises
- Give night-time assistance when needed
Health and daily living
- Prompt and supervise medication prescribed by the doctor
- Prepare meals with the client and help with feeding
- Record the client's food and fluid intake and output
- Go with the client to medical appointments
- Do the shopping and errands, change bed linen and keep the home clean
Wellbeing
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients and their families
- Encourage social, recreational and indoor activities
- Keep families and healthcare professionals informed so care stays coordinated
- Follow infection control and health and safety procedures
Hours and working conditions
- 8-hour days, up to 40 hours a week
- At least 3 hours of rest in a row every day
- One full 24-hour rest period every week
- Physically demanding work, including long periods standing and helping clients move
- Based in the client's home, or where the company requires
Requirements
- Caring, patient and respectful, with a person-centred approach
- Able to keep personal information confidential
- Good communication skills and a team player
- Physical stamina for personal care and helping clients move
- Neat, professional appearance: long hair tied back, short nails with no extensions, and no jewellery except a wedding ring
- Your credentials must be verified through DataFlow (mandatory)
