About the role
A community care provider in Malta is hiring Home Helpers. You will visit clients in their own homes and help them stay independent, safe and comfortable.
The role mixes practical help around the house with companionship. Clients rely on you, so kindness, patience and reliability matter most.
Daily support
- Help clients with everyday living activities
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Help with grocery shopping, errands, collecting prescriptions and getting to appointments
- Notice and report any changes in a client's physical or mental condition
Housework
- Clean and tidy the client's home
- Do the laundry, make beds and wash dishes
- Prepare light meals
- Keep food and hygiene supplies stocked and stored properly
- Keep the home safe, clean and organised
Working with the team
- Keep clients' families and your supervisors informed
- Take part in handovers so care continues smoothly
- Attend training to build your skills
- Respect each client's privacy and follow confidentiality and safeguarding policies
Working conditions
- Community-based work, travelling between clients' homes
- Physical tasks, including cleaning and lifting
- Possible exposure to biological hazards
- Flexible working hours
- You work on your own, with supervision and support from a wider care team
Requirements
- Compassionate, patient and reliable
- Good communication and people skills
- Basic understanding of health and safety
- Able to work on your own
