About the role
An engineering and maintenance company in Malta is hiring a Mechanical Technician. You will service, maintain, repair, install and commission many kinds of mechanical equipment at client sites, project sites and in the workshop.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and will get structured training on the job.
What you will do
- Service, maintain, fault-find and repair machines on site and in the workshop
- Strip down, check, repair and rebuild plant such as pumps and compressors
- Find mechanical and electrical faults
- Set up, calibrate and programme equipment where needed
- Carry out routine checks and planned maintenance
- Make sure equipment runs safely and to the maker's specifications
- Keep accurate service reports and maintenance records
- Suggest ways to make equipment work better
- Follow health, safety and quality rules at all times

- Air compressors
- High-pressure cleaners

- Other industrial machines
Starting pay depends on your qualifications, skills and experience.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- Strong mechanical skills, able to find and fix faults down to component level
- Knowledge of pumps, compressors, engines and industrial equipment
- Some knowledge of microprocessor-based controllers
- Basic electrical fault-finding
- Well organised, with good record-keeping
- Committed to good service and quality work
- Able to work alone or in a team, and keen to learn
- Maintenance or servicing experience is an advantage, but not essential
