About the role
A construction project in Malta needs a skilled Formwork Erector (also called a framework erector or formwork carpenter). You will build, assemble and dismantle formwork for reinforced concrete structures, especially reservoirs and curved walls.
The work demands precision. Accurate formwork gives the finished structure its shape, strength and watertightness.
What you will do
- Build and install formwork for reinforced concrete reservoirs, including circular and curved structures
- Read construction drawings to work out formwork sizes and requirements
- Measure, cut and shape timber, metal and other materials
- Make sure formwork is level, aligned and securely braced before each pour
- Fit water bars accurately so construction joints stay watertight
- Strike formwork after curing without damaging the concrete
- Inspect, maintain and store formwork materials and tools
- Work closely with site supervisors, engineers and the wider team
- Follow safety procedures and wear the correct PPE
- Deliver high-quality work that meets specifications and deadlines
Requirements
- Knowledge of formwork systems and reinforced concrete construction
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Precise, with strong attention to detail
- Physical stamina for demanding site conditions
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Understanding of workplace health and safety rules
