About the role
A construction project in Malta needs a skilled Concreter to pour, finish and cure concrete for reinforced concrete reservoirs and related structures.
Quality matters on this project. Your work gives the concrete its strength, durability and finish, especially at construction joints and on curved surfaces.
What you will do
- Prepare work areas before each pour, checking formwork alignment and reinforcement placement
- Pour concrete into formwork for reservoirs and other complex structures
- Spread, level and smooth concrete to the required finish
- Vibrate and compact concrete to remove air pockets
- Form and finish construction joints carefully so they stay watertight
- Cure concrete correctly so it gains strength without cracking
- Repair surface defects to a high finishing standard
- Look after concrete tools and equipment
- Work with the site supervisor to keep the project on schedule
- Follow all health, safety and environmental rules on site
Requirements
- Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, finishing and curing
- Understanding of reinforced concrete structures
- Able to work precisely on curved and complex structures
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Awareness of construction safety regulations
